Following the completion of major renovations to our theater located at the Adam Mickiewicz Library and Dramatic Circle in the east side of Buffalo, Torn Space has produced a wide range of events spanning genres, communities and performance styles in 2022.

Partnering with Buffalo artists across disciplines, we hosted Ladies First; a night celebrating local female hip hop artists, Water/Soil Discontent; a bio art installation, and CrossWalk; a fashion party featuring several designers and musicians on the grounds of Artpark. We hosted The Encounter, a performance by artist-in-residence and celebrated choreographer Kimberly Bartosik that will receive a New York City premiere as part of the prestigious Crossing the Line Festival.

We partnered with Lafayette International High School for the second year of a student mural project, Agents of Change, and the Burchfield-Penney Art Center for a performance float in the Pride Parade, Camp Everything. In addition to these exciting community projects, we presented two original installation-based performances; Remnants at our home space on Fillmore Avenue and Ages at Silo City.

As we head into our 10th anniversary of designing site-based performance at Silo City our work will receive international recognition and will be featured at the 2023 Prague Quadrennial.

Torn Space delivers work unlike anything else presented in Buffalo, and our distinct, contemporary programming could not be achieved without your ongoing support. With a 2022-2023 Annual Appeal goal of $35,000.00 that allows us to produce the very best in contemporary performance, your unrestricted gift not only supports our operating expenses, it allows us to provide a platform for our talented artists, bring visiting artists to our community, and to create new award-winning original works.

Of all the worthy performing arts organizations in our region, we hope you will consider Torn Space worth your investment so that we may continue to create relevant and dynamic work.
