Thank you for celebrating our 25th Anniversary Season!

In 2025, Torn Space Theater successfully produced our Mainstage Production Scenes from a Marriage, a Site-Specific Experience in our home space REVEAL, five separate Independent Artist Performances ranging from ambient audiovisual meditations by Groupwork to a high energy ballroom-inspired dance piece by Omari Wiles, and completed our Phase Three campus renovations to expand green room and technical space, connect our buildings, and form a stunning new entryway for audiences.

Torn Space was selected to join the Simons Foundation’s highly selective Open Interval program, which supports research between the arts and sciences. The cohort includes distinguished colleagues from the Wooster Group, NASA Exoplanet Science Institute, and MacArthur grantees.

In spite of having our contract with the NEA terminated, these achievements were made possible with your support. With partnerships that bring together artists exploring theater, visual and digital art, music, dance and hip hop, Torn Space continues to be a dynamic cultural incubator. The completion of our multi-use campus makes it possible for audiences and artists to convene for the realization of new visions for collaboration and creation.

Please consider supporting us through our Year End Appeal. We are busy planning another year of innovative programming and we look forward to seeing you back at the theater- find a season preview at the bottom of this letter!

Torn Space is producing ambitious seasons that give theatrical, musical, and visual artists an extraordinary creative platform to engage our audiences.

None of this work would be possible without continued support from you.

With a 2025 Year End Appeal goal of $30,000, your unrestricted gift not only supports our operating expenses, it also allows us to provide a unique platform for talented artists and to create new award-winning original works. We hope you will consider Torn Space worth your investment so that we may continue to create relevant and dynamic performance.

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming performance.

Sincerely,

Dan Shanahan | Torn Space Theater Artistic Director
